NRA Fashion Design Awards & Festival 2008 Launch

Monday was the launch of the 2008 NRA Fashion Design Awards & Festival on the Gold Coast , Queensland. The festival is a high profile fashion and lifestyle event, giving Australian fashion designers, manufacturers, students and fashion retailers the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the shopping public and a national television audience.

The NRA is again proud to have AMP Capital Shopping Centres as the major partner in this event.

Here were some a summary of Monday’s events:

Ten of Australia’s leading designers prove that fashion and art are not mutually exclusive with their artistic flair on display and ready to be shown off on the new and limited-edition Chari-Tee for the children’s charity, Variety.

Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson from Easton Pearson, Wayne Cooper, Peter Morrissey, Harry Watt and George Gross from Harry Who, Trelise Cooper, Jonathan Ward, Charlie Brown and Marilyn Said of Covers all participated in the inaugural Chari-Tee for Variety.

Each Chari-Tee features a custom design and the respective designer’s signature.

The Chari-Tees and the designer’s artwork printed onto canvas will be exhibited at Pacific Fair during the NRA Australian Fashion Design Festival presented by Pacific Fair Shopping Centre.

Retailing for $59.95, the Chari-Tees are available for sale at the Pacific Fair Festival HotSpot (located on the Lower Level Arcade, outside Portmans) and online at www.nra.net.au/fashion.

Fashion Article

I got a call during the week from an editor of The Daily Mercury, a newspaper in Mackay to use one of my photos for an article on a fashion design student from QUT. They requested three photos for consideration from a shoot I did at the QUT Fashion Graduate parade in 2006.

I’ll post the PDF of the article when I get a chance later… or will I?
