Sweat Diva – Launch Party at GPO Hotel Brisbane

On saturday night I went to the launch party of the newest active wear fashion label Sweat Diva. The launch event was at GPO Hotel in Brisbane, and featured a spectacular presentation of dance, exercise and boxing demonstrations. All of which were performed in sexy Sweat Diva clothing.
The picture above is of Carly Faragher, Erin Cash and myself. Carly is the fashion design student whom I took photos of at the Ekka races who then contacted me to do some photography for her fashion design entires at Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE.
Erin Cash is the founder and operator of Sweat Diva, I met Erin through Carly who was doing work experience at the Sweat Diva head quarters on Brisbane’s northside. I’ve been doing all of Erin’s recent photography and print design work. I will be working with Erin on creating content for her website and upcoming catalogs.

Check out photos from the launch party in my fashion photo gallery.
Sweat Diva’s range is made in Australia from high-quality pill-resistant imported Italian fabric. Sweat Diva has active wear for you to run, jump, dance, box and kick. There are also cool, comfortable and gorgeous outfits to suit low-impact excercise such as Yoga. No active-wear label would be complete without hot accessories such as hats, towels and thongs. Check out the Sweat Diva online store now to order or to enquire about stocking Sweat Diva.

This morning I did a fashion shoot for Moreton Institute of TAFE student Penny Bell and her Moda Italia entry. Penny is a finalist for this competition which is an Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry QLD event. The final for this event is on October 11, 2006. I will be shooting at this event, expect to see some photos from that parade around that time.

Sweat Diva – Hot new active wear in Brisbane

I did a photoshoot this morning for a new high quality active wear label called Sweat Diva. Founded by Erin Cash, this label features some of the hottest designs and looks to fit into a growing market of consumers who are getting into exercise. Check out my photo gallery here and let me know what you think.
I did this photoshoot mostly with my fixed 50mm lens, using manual focus- its much quicker than the lens’ auto focus plus at wider apertures it becomes easier to pick the focal point. I’ve done a couple of black and white shots, mixed them in lightroom to give them a bit of punch, but i think my favourite pics were in front of the silver roller shutter.
2006 Moda Italia – Moreton Institute of TAFE Fashion Design

I was invited yesterday to take some photos of the premilinary judging at the 2006 Moda Italia, Moreton Institute of TAFE fashion parade. My friend Carly and from what I can tell her friends there all made it to top 20 and the final judging in October to win a scholarship at a design school in Italy.

This was a new experience for me, shooting with a Digital SLR and external flash on moving subjects at night. It’s much different from portrait and wedding photography where you can control the subject’s movement. After reviewing the photos, most of them looked slightly blurred, or seemed out of focus. I was shooting at ISO400 at around f2-4. I would have thought that with the flash that I could shoot basically as fast as I wanted, but that wasn’t the case.
Most shots are under a 40/sec, which means that any movement whatesoever is going to blur. You will see that some of the “better” shots which don’t show that blur, the model held her pose longer than usual. Whilst others were speedy gonzalas’. Anyways, I possibly should have gone to ISO800 but i really dislike that noise it produces at that sensitivies. BUT, it is better than blurred photos.

VoIP Phone active – Call me now for hot conversation
Today (with the expertise of Glenn Kentwell of Kentwell Network Computing), I set up my VoIP phone service with a D-link DPH-120S Desktop Broadband Internet Telephone. This will be my business phone for Bowman Digital.
The call rates are much more cost effective than using standard landline phone services. I am using iinet as my broadband internet service provider and i’m using their netphone service, I do not have to pay a service fee but only for calls made. I’m not sure if this service is still free on their plans.
Checkout some of the rates for using a VoIP phone with iinet here. The savings made on international calls are amazing, they make local mobile rates seem expensive, in particular the VoIP call rate to USA through iinet is 5c per min, for both landline AND mobile services. 5c!
Anyways, call me now for some hot conversation.. 07 3122 3763 between 9am-6pm mon-fri.
Speak to you soon

This is what you have been trained for
Had to present a business plan and marketing strategy draft to RSPCA QLD today, presented to the CEO, Senior executive, Retail Manager, Fundraising manager and the IT developer who also works on the project i was presenting.
Anyways, I haven’t done this since in a year or two since doing post grad studies in new business startup, so it was good to get up and have a yarn in front of a bunch of important people. The presentation went quite well, had my powerpoint presentation, excel spreadsheet and diagrams at hand on Scott’s lappy on a projector.
If you didn’t know already, i’m helping with the strategy of an online store which we are launching and its going to be the first of its kind for RSPCA in Australia.
Here are some frilly facts without giving out too much.
