WordPress has a nice taste – Weblog to CMS
WordPress, whilst i’ve only started using this blog software appears to be very powerful, more than I can handle at this present time. Glenn Kentwell directed me to this article about using WordPress as a CMS. Seems pretty easy for rainbow makers like myself to adopt.
There are two key thing of this article highlights which work well for someone like me. Firstly, by using “pages” as a means to create permanent content, new information will not be archived away like posts are. Secondly, WordPress will use home.php in preference to index.php if they both exist in the root directory. This will allow me to use a different front page layout than the actual content pages.
I will be experienting with WordPress as I become more familiar with using it as blog software.
