RSPCA QLD needs an extra $5m to help build new facility
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie made an announcment today which urged the coporate sector to help contribute to the building of a new RSPCA animal facility at Redbank. The Queensland government will be injecting $14m into replacing the “run-down” shelter at fairfield, with a new state-of-the-art facility at Redbank worth $19m. This leaves a vital $5m to complete the job, and Premier Beattie has called upon corporate business in QLD to help fill in the gap.
Fairfield is notorious for a lot of inadequacies including power problems, bad drainage and pest control problems. As a contractor for RSPCA, I also know that some of the IT infrastructure is a bit dated and definately needs to be updated there also.
Friday night was RSPCA Qld’s Christmas party, and The Chill Bar in Brisbane City donated space and catering for the night, to help reward the staff and volunteers of the RSPCA here in Queensland. I attended the evening and this was definately one of the best venues we’ve had for a Christmas party.
