Press Conference: GU Vs UQ

UPDATED:

Griffith University 6-11-47 Def. University of Qld 5-3-34
Round One Div. 3 – State Association

Injuries: Griffith: Ben (Broken Leg), Sam (Split Webbing)

This is a transcript from today’s press conference after the big match between GU and UQ.

Q: Christian, you had a blistering start to the first quarter with 4 shots at goal, but you only kicked one with 3 behinds, what can you say about those lost opportunities?

A: Due to global warming issues and the new level 5 restrictions, the grass condition was less than ideal. The excess CO2 in the air also affected my breathing pattern during my run up to shoot for goal. I was probably off by about 5 degrees, something I could calibrate for next time with a small shot of oxygen and watering the grass in front of my feet before each shot.

Q: You got into a fight today in the last quarter, it is most uncharacteristic of you, what started it and why did you retaliate?

A: I don’t usually get into fights on field, however on this occasion, I was being held after a brilliant tackle, and after not being awarded the free kick, I was less forgiving of such action. Pushing each others head into the ground isn’t something i’m proud of doing, but we shook hands after the game like sportsmen.

Q: Did you get injured at all today?

A: I have a sore shoulder after lining up a player to tackle them, and we both ran into each other at full speed. He eluded my tackle but I caused him to mis-kick the ball. I also have an unusual swelling on my neck under my chin. I think i may have recieved an elbow or got bitten by a snake out on the field .. i kid i kid (whole conference laughing)
