PMS Solid to Process PDF - Colour Guide for Laser & Inkjet
Pantone Solid to Process Guide PDF
I found this guide going through some emails that i had sent to myself. Yes i send myself emails.
Anyways, I’ve been scouring the web to find a custom pantone solid to process guide to use with my laser printer. If I need to do short run print jobs on my printer, I can now colour match to what my printer will spit out. If you don’t want to fork out for a proper pantone guide you could use this and maybe print it at the press. If you have certain stocks that you use most frequently then you could print out the guide on each of the stocks for reference during your brainstorming sessions.
Perhaps the best use of this guide besides using it to match for smaller jobs is to test on different stocks. If you do a lot of inhouse printing using process colour, then using this guide you could print out this guide to see which colours are best on particular stock.
Remember, this guide was not created by myself and I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the mixtures. It is good though that someone has painstakingly done this to help designers abroad. No matter where you work, if you have a colour laser or colour inkjet, and you need to do small run brochures, flyers, posters etc. This guide is very handy.
If you are unsure as to how this guide can help you. Print out this guide on your printer, use the duplexor if you have one. Make sure you print this out on the typical stock that you will be printing on.
Once you have printed out the guide, you can now reference this with any work you do where the output is your printer. Its good to use pantone matched CMY combinations just in case you need to print at the press and you can reference back to the proper swatch.
Using this guide is also good to see how existing artwork will print out without printing it out and/or see what you need to do to change the mixture to the desired output.
Good luck and enjoy.
