Oriental & Thai Cafe – Best Thai Restaurant on Creek Road, Carindale
Glenn and I were fanging for some yummy food last night and I recommended we get some food from Oriental & Thai Cafe on Creek Rd, Carindale on Brisbane’s southside. I’ve had my fair share of thai food from around town and on the gold coast, and I must mention that this place is fantastic. Glenn and I were so hungry that we decided to get 3 dishes plus rice between us. Our excuse was that neo, my cat would like some food also. We basically wanted some variety.
Whilst we waited for our orders, the young girl Amy, kept us entertained by teaching us how to make a byrds of paradise flower out of a napkin.
Anyways we got the following dishes:
- Gang Dang (Thai Red Curry) – Red curry paste cooked with coconut milk, vegetables and Thai herbs. We got chicken with this. Other options included Pork, Beef or lamb. 10/10 for me
- Pad Thai – This is an old favourite of mine. It has Thai stir-fry rice noodles with prawns, chicken, egg, tofu, bean sprouts, chives and crushed peanuts. 7.5/10
- Malaysian Mee Goreng – Traditional Malay style stir-fried with egg, tofu and some greens. We got pork with this dish. 6.5/10
- Steamed Jasmine Rice
The thai red curry served “hot” was just amazing, i must learn how to make it!
We did attempt to eat all of this, however as the saying goes, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs… hard to believe in my case
Here is the Take-away menu scanned in for your perusal- i highly recommend it. Like all other asian take-away/dine in restaurants, it is extra to eat in. The service is great and you’ll be walking out very satisfied.

got a takeaway from here last night and it was the most appalling food I have had in years. Had to throw it away. Slimy artificially coloured MSG laden chicken and cashew nuts, and a supposed thai red curry beef that looked like baby pooh and tasted bland bland bland. 0/10
