Essendon Finally Sacked Sheedy
July 25th, 2007 • Related • Filed Under
I made a post in May last year about Sheedy needing to be sacked and it has finally happened. Essendon went into the 2007 year with high hopes, and they currently sit in 10th spot with a chance to make the finals. However with the future of the club and a coaching contract ending, Essendon has decided not to renew it.
The expertise and success of Kevin Sheedy will be well sort after now that he’s on the market.

So do you still rate sheedy as a good coach, just not a good fit for essendon?

Yeah I have no doubt that he’s a great coach, but in fast paced times, sometimes a change of coach can do wonders… look at geelong, they are killing it with the new coach

wow.. new coach? Bomber Thompson has coached about 175 games for geelong since 2000!

haha, trust you to only register now to make sure u can prove me wrong haha yeah i stuffed it– i think i jumped the gun because both thomson and laidley are out of contract and were due to be sacked after not living up to their original hopes. look at them now- 1 and 2! 25% of afl coaches have been sacked this year! the end. or is it?
