I heard on the AFL today during the St Kilda v Fremantle game an interesting collective noun.

A Lodge of Beaver.. haha! ok i do have an imagination, but i would love to see a lodge of beaver, some in trees, some by spa, near the bar drinking hot mochas wearing pattern knit skivvys.

Anyways it did make me wonder about the collective noun for bloggers.. I found this post for some suggestions.

I then also found this list of collective nouns for animals! haha i love it. I’ve heard of a murder of crows before and used it as conversation stirers but i love hearing new ones. If you have any that arn’t on this list please comment! hehe a business of ferrets.. they are so organised aren’t they!

Some of my favourite collective nouns:

Crash of Rhinos
Murder of Crows
Gaggle of Geese
Sum of Mathmeticians
Usleless of Channel 10 Digital TV guides
Bowman of Whoppers
Handbag of Umpires
Packet of Wombats .. ok now i’m being silly..

  1. A ’smuck’ of Jellyfish. I like this one because when Rosie was little she couldn’t pronounce ’sm’ at the beginning of words. Instead it would come out sounding like ‘f’. So one day we told her to surprise dad by yelling ‘smuck’ and him ten times, very loudly. We felt proud. Years later, when we realised ‘smuck’ was an actual word, we felt really, really proud.
