World For Pets – Best Online Pet Accessories Shopping Store in Australia
Yesterday was the official launch of the World for Pets Online Superstore for the RSPCA. I’ve been involved in this project over the past three months (or there about), doing Internet marketing and Graphic design work. Due to the lack of human resources and funds typically available for such a project we have had to work efficiently.
We are in the first phase of the launch which means that most of the advertising at the moment is through our exsiting channels of communication to the public. I will be starting google ads at the end of the week and we have a large mail out with the new flyer that I designed as an insert which has information on the World for pets operations and the RSPCA Road Home initiative.
Visit worldforpets.com.au, the RSPCA online superstore. This is the Best source to shop online for dog and cat supplies, pet accessories plus toys and gifts for the important animals AND humans in your life from the comfort of your own home. World for pets is also the home of all RSPCA merchandise, so show your support and buy online. Your purchases are delivered so you never even have to leave your chair. You can access RSPCA products 24 hours a day, seven days a week, when it’s convenient for you.
Sweat Diva – Launch Party at GPO Hotel Brisbane

On saturday night I went to the launch party of the newest active wear fashion label Sweat Diva. The launch event was at GPO Hotel in Brisbane, and featured a spectacular presentation of dance, exercise and boxing demonstrations. All of which were performed in sexy Sweat Diva clothing.
The picture above is of Carly Faragher, Erin Cash and myself. Carly is the fashion design student whom I took photos of at the Ekka races who then contacted me to do some photography for her fashion design entires at Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE.
Erin Cash is the founder and operator of Sweat Diva, I met Erin through Carly who was doing work experience at the Sweat Diva head quarters on Brisbane’s northside. I’ve been doing all of Erin’s recent photography and print design work. I will be working with Erin on creating content for her website and upcoming catalogs.

Check out photos from the launch party in my fashion photo gallery.
Sweat Diva’s range is made in Australia from high-quality pill-resistant imported Italian fabric. Sweat Diva has active wear for you to run, jump, dance, box and kick. There are also cool, comfortable and gorgeous outfits to suit low-impact excercise such as Yoga. No active-wear label would be complete without hot accessories such as hats, towels and thongs. Check out the Sweat Diva online store now to order or to enquire about stocking Sweat Diva.
The Grates Concert – The Tivoli, Brisbane

On friday night I was invited as a VIP Guest to The Grates concert. I was also given a media pass by Jhon the guitarist from the band for me to take photos. I was a guest with Cass & Lauren Brisbane who are friends with Jhon and Patience. Unfortunately I cannot post the pictures I took in a public gallery. Instead i’ve got a wonderful picture of me being extra cool and special with my guest and media wrist bands of excellence. I did feel very special.
The actual concert was awesome, i’ve never seen them live before, and I love how energetic and beautiful Patience is on stage, definitely a work of art! Oh Jhon, Dan in the panda suit and Alana also are works of art. Or are they?
I took a few photos, as with most events such as a parades and concerts, flash photography is not permitted. I took in my Canon 20D and my “nifty fifty” 50mm 1.8 II lens and shot using shutter priority mode. As much as I could I shot at 125th for a second, whilst its not really fast enough for the bouncing and pouncing of patience’s performance, its gives me enough room to get enough light into the camera at ISO 800.
Penny Bell – Moda Italia Entry

This morning I did a fashion shoot for Moreton Institute of TAFE student Penny Bell and her Moda Italia entry. Penny is a finalist for this competition which is an Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry QLD event. The final for this event is on October 11, 2006. I will be shooting at this event, expect to see some photos from that parade around that time.
Check out the fashion photos here.
AFL Grand Final 2006 – Story Bridge Hotel

Went to the Story Bridge Hotel today to watch the AFL grand final between the Sydney Swans & the West Coast Eagles. Whilst it didn’t phase me which team won, i needed to cheer a team on.
One of my greatest memories of going to the 1989 and 2004 grand finals was the massive roar of the MCG at the conclusion of the national anthem. Possibly the peak of loudness at the venue as both team’s supporters are yelling at their loudest.
I tipped the Swans to win in my tipping comp, but decided to cheer on the Eagles on the day. I was kinda hoping for a draw, just for something special and different. Apparently.. a BIG apparently was that the last draw in a grand final was 29 years ago… and before that was 29 years. I frantically went to put money on, but there is no TAB facility avail at Story Bridge hotel.
Anyways, the Swans came within 1 point of winning the game with the final siren going off in the Swan’s forward 50. So close to a draw!
Dane won our AFL tipping comp this year, cheers to him!
Fun photos of The Grates plus Marc’s “Back to Vic” BBQ

I’ve just uploaded some new photos from a couple of BBQ’s I went to this week. The first one was at Southbank, where I went with Cass to a private gathering that The Grates had organised for friends. Cass’ sister Lauren and her new fiance Nathan are good friends with both Patience and Jhon. I played random photographer, taking random photos.

Marc was back for a couple of days after being in Bourketown far north qld. We met up at his parent’s new place for a BBQ. Ok maybe the place isn’t “new” but it was new to most of us. I drank some of Glenn’s Jack Daniels and Cam, Marc and I had Jager Bombs! yummo! Anyways, I took some photos.
This is the first time I’ve taken photos at night outside using full manual on the camera and ettl flash metering with my external Canon Speedlite 550EX. Most of the photos were set at 1/250th and f5/6. Paul took some photos also, I had set it up to full-auto mode for him. Post production was done in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Beta 4. I picked a few images that were better than others and processed them with more attention.
