Today I signed the contract to accept the position of Web Marketing Manager at Achaeus Group. Achaeus are business strategists helping businesses and entrepreneurs succeed by simplifying their business methods and stucture.

I will be managing several initiatives, I could tell you what they are exactly, but then i’d have to kill you! Yeah but nah. I will be working with achaeus to create some innovative web marketing campaigns.

I withdrew an application to be web content manager with Catholic Education in which I had progressed past the 1st round of interviews to work for Achaeus. Gail Geronimos from Achaeus has some exciting ideas and I believe I can unleash my true potential as an online communicator with her knowledge and network of resources. I look forward to utilising my skills and 6 years of web experience to do some exciting things there.

My office is in Fortitude Valley, a really nice and relaxed environment inside with a nice view of wickham terrace and china town. Looks like i’ll be eating a lot of asian food yay!

Wish me luck!

10 year old Boy deserves to be convicted of attempted fire alarm sounding

This post will be made with total scarcasm.

I read an article today that a young 10 year old boy is being charged for attempting to set off a fire alarm. Apparently he didn’t actually set it off and that there is fire alarm logs to say he didn’t do it. However despite all that the school principal called the police, without informing his parents. I mean really, the little boy deserved it. If he’s going to fall into peer group pressure by other boys to lift off the cover of the switch, its basically the same as sounding the alarm and disturbing society. He’s lucky he didn’t actually sound the alarm, schools can’t tolerate having to turn it off after it has been set off.

I’m actually in support of the principal to also call in the cops and to charge the boy with this heinous crime. I’m also in total support to not let his parents know, I mean HE commited the crime, not his parents- it has nothing to do with them really. Some may say that he’s not old enough to know better after being alive for 10 years. His bad spelling is also typical of his lack of respect for society and his ability to waste the first ten years of his life. My philosophy is, if you are born, you are old enough to know better.

Anyways, I hope that gets all he deserves. A criminal record at 10, and a lifetime of embarassment for his bad spelling. I hope his parents realise the serious nature of this crime of attempted fire alarm pressing and help the principal punish this young man to the maximum extent. This is one example of where guantanamo bay detainment camp can be of assistance.

One of my favourite TV show as a kid growing up in the 80’s was Knight Rider. I was trying to figure out an episode i remember when the car would have bits stick out to make it go faster. After reading up on it on wikipedia, I found the feature in question- Super Pursuit Mode. Anyways, this was a modification made to KITT for the fourth season. This increased the car’s stability and most importantly speed. It can now go 40% faster than it’s original top speed of 300 MPH… I’m speaking to the toyota dealership now to see if they can install SPM 2.0 into my 98 Camry, which should increase the top speed from 90 to 100 km/h.

Here are couple of photos that I took a couple of weeks ago. It can be hard working with kids, especially in front of the camera. Having worked with kids with santa photography, in the busiest of retail environments at Christmas, I’ve become accustomed to the unpredictability of their behaviour. Anyways, let me know what you think of these, I’d love any feedback about them.

Bad Hair Day - Bride cuts off hair moments before the wedding

I found this video on YouTube yesterday, and as a wedding service provider, I couldn’t help but feel for this poor bride. I’ve filmed and photographed at several weddings where the Bride and Bride’s maids for that matter have been most unhappy with their hair. Unlike a mark on the dress, illness, bad weather, wearing hair that you are totally unhappy with on your wedding day would be quite catastrophic. Months and sometimes years of preparation and anticipation for the big day can lead to an overwhelming flow of emotion that is totally uncontrollable.

I’ve helped Bride’s and Bride’s mothers deal with the uncontrollable effects of a bad service provider, weather, and the unfortunate events like getting the dress dirty, broken or even having parts missing. The only thing I can do as a service provider is to help the Bride understand that in the grand scheme of marrying the one they love, all of those elements become insignificant. In fact, talking with clients after years of being married, they love watching their wedding video on their wedding anniversary to see how unique their wedding became after an “incident”. It makes their day unique, and makes their relationship with each other just that extra bit special.

If your wedding runs perfectly and without flaw, thats great. However if something does happen which doesnt’ go to plan, it’s great also! Getting married is a big step, not because of prcoesses of the wedding day, but because your have found someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. Sometimes the most catastrophic things becomes the source of great memory as the overwhelming emotion associated with that incident will only ADD to the collection of wonderful memories together.
